Orlando Pirates star Fortune Makaringe takes up modelling

The perks of being a football star are that they can venture into other forms of commercial work seamlessly and it appears that Orlando Pirates star Fortune Makaringe has chosen modelling as one of his new passions. Let's have a look!

In the modern era, top footballers carry an extra layer of prominence, which sometimes extends beyond their soccer careers. With football itself being extremely popular, brands usually associate themselves with some of the most marketable stars in the game, as they look to tap into those potentially profitable spaces.

That seems to be the case now with Pirates maestro Makringe, who appears to have taken up modelling as a genuine interest

Scroll through the gallery above to see some of Makringe's best snaps as a model.

What kind of modelling?

With various forms of modelling, Makringe has not taken the rather conventional form, which is runway. However, he began doing commercial modelling, which concentrates on advertising a range of products in catalogues, campaigns or commercials.

This specific form of the activity or profession is not restricted by things like age, size or height, but it is much more diverse to new and less specific talent.

The former Maritzburg star was recently seen modelling for a jewellery and watch store called Langa Soleil.

The elegant playmaker seems to have bossed it, as he does in midfield, which demonstrated a more dynamic side to him as a person.

Did you know?

Makringe confessed that he drew footballing inspiration from Steve Lekoelea and Teko Modise, per Orlando Pirates' official website.

Your thoughts, please?

With consistent performances for the Buccaneers, how close do you think Makringe is to regular call-ups to the national team?
