Chippa United head coach Thabo September is confident of staying on at the club beyond the current season despite recent struggles on the results front.
September was handed coaching duties at Chippa following the departure of Kwanele Kopo in December 2024. The former SuperSport United defender’s contract with the side is set to expire next month.

However, he remains with a two-year option which still yet to be activated.
The Gqeberha-based outfit currently sit in position eight in the Betway Premiership standings and stand a chance of qualifying for next season’s MTN8.
“We haven’t started having a discussion, not yet,” said September when asked about his future at the club.
“My contract ends now, but I have a two-year option. Signs (that will stay ) are there, but we haven’t really sat and discussed the contract.”
Meanwhile, the Chilli Boys are set to lose attacker Sinoxolo Kwayiba, who is destined for a move to Orlando Pirates at the end of the season.
According to media reports, negotiations between the two clubs over the services of the 25-year-old are at an advanced stage.

September is aware of the challenge of trying to replace the Bafana Bafana international in his team next season.
“We need to start building for next season using players we want to use or look at for next season and get the best of the team in the two (remaining) games.
“We’re playing Marumo (Gallants) away and we have Mamelodi Sundowns coming home. We need to be as professional as we can to finish the season on a good note,” noted the Knysna native.
