After Cape Town Spurs' stance, denying clearances to Asenele Velebayi and Luke Baartman both linked to Kaizer Chiefs and Liam Bern to AmaZulu FC, KickOff has further insight on the matter.
Media reports are that the three players - Velebayi, Baartman, and Bern - did not report to training at Spurs, who have been relegated to the ABC Motsepe League, as they have allegedly agreed deals with the above suitors, pending the issue of clearances.

Spurs have, however, denied the youngsters their clearances, ordering them to come back to training, disregarding the claims that they are free agents.
This website has been reliably informed that Velebayi, Baartman, and Bern will not be held to ransom by Spurs over clearances and will approach the PSL's Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC), which has the powers to issue clearances in such disputes.
According to the NSL rules, players are entitled to apply to the DRC to attain free agent status in the following scenarios.
Article 43.1 states:
"A player may apply to the Dispute Resolution Chamber to be declared a free agent in any of the following circumstances:
43.1.1 where his Member Club is in breach of the contract of employment
43.1.2 If his Member Club has unlawfully terminated his contract of employment
43.1.3 if his Member Club has unfairly dismissed him.
And crucially on this matter, article 43.1.4 should apply, according to a source close to the situation.
43.1.4 in the event of his Member Club ceasing to exist as a Member Club falling under the jurisdiction of the League

More clarity on article 43.1.4 is that the Urban Warriors no longer belong under the jurisdiction of the League and therefore are no longer regarded as a Member Club within the NSL, which only consists of clubs in the topflight and Motsepe Foundation Championship.
