Pitso Mosimane not surprised Mamelodi Sundowns scored 16 goals against Cote d'Or in the CAF Champions League

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane was not shocked to see his team put 16 goals past Cote d'Or over two legs.

Sundowns swept aside the Seychelles side 16-1 on aggregate to book themselves a ticket to the CAF Champions League group stage once again, the draw for which is set to be held in Cairo on Monday.

'Jingles' praised his players for showing professionalism in their approach to the game on Friday despite already leading 5-0 before the second leg kicked off at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

"I am not surprised because I saw in Seychelles that we have an opportunity to score more here," said Mosimane after the match.

"What is good about the game is that we spoke to the guys that we need to practise the things we normally do and we don't normally get goals out of them. Because the resistance was not strong, we could achieve some of the things we always do.

"That showed respect to the badge, it showed respect to the supporters and that was good professionalism they applied."

Sundowns afforded new Uruguayan striker Mauricio Affonso his debut after a frustrating spell out through injury and he announced his arrival in style with a goal on his first touch late in the second half. 

Young winger Sphelele Mkhulise also got a runout on a night when Oupa Manyisa and Andile Jali returned to the starting line-up.
