The Zamalek player limped out of Egypt’s first session on South Africa soil, but team doctor Mohamed Abul-Ela told FilGoal.com he hoped it was nothing too serious.
"In order to avoid an injury relapse, we decided that Gabr should not continue training," he said. "I think there is nothing major and he would participate in the upcoming friendly against South Africa."
With The Pharaohs already missing Al-Ahly centre-back Ahmed Hegazy through injury, the loss of Gabr as well would seriously weaken the defensive line of coach Hector Cuper.
