There is a demand for Bafana Bafana to improve the racial representation in the squad after SAFA and President Danny Jordaan were grilled on the matter in Parliament.
SAFA appeared before the Sports, Arts and Culture Portfolio Commitee to report on various matters last week, where Members of Parliament were given an opportunity to pose questions to the association's entourage, led by President Jordaan.

Marlon Daniels, member of the Patriotic Alliance, was particularly scathing in questioning Jordaan on this issue.
"(Hugo) Broos, Bafana coach, announced the squad for friendlies to be played, 16 of the 23 players are black African players, seven of the 23 are not," Daniels started off.
"I've always asked myself, particularly when I watch Bafana play, if Ronwen Williams was not the goalkeeper, there would not have been a coloured player in that field.
"How and why is it? If we reflect on 1996 AFCON, that was a true reflection of a Rainbow Nation representing our country, and look at what they achieved, and it was the last time they achieved that.
"SAFA, why and how is it that, you're not gonna tell me there's no quality coloured players. You're not gonna tell me there's no Neil Toveys out there, white players," Daniels said.
"Why is it that when it comes to Bafana Bafana, the majority must be black Africans in particular? That is not fair! If the coloureds had no talent, there wouldn't be Kaylin Swart, Ronwen Williams, Daine Klate, Frank Schoeman, Bradley August, Shaun Bartlett, Benni McCarthy and others.
"Why are you guys folding your arms when this happens!? Is it because the African National Congress (ANC) is controlling you!? If it is the case, I want to know! Because ANC is for Africans!
"You know why? They want to call us coloured people gangsters, druggist, bantinti... We've got so much talent amongst us, but because we're being deprived the opportunity for being the wrong colour of our skin, that we don't make it to play where we belong in those levels.

Jordaan seemed to have been caught by surprise about the question and could not answer with absolute confidence and instead said the matter of selection sits with the head coach Broos.
