Chiefs have been rather unfortunate of late, losing several key players at crucial moments this season, beginning with Joseph Molangoane, who fractured his shin bone in the very first game against Free State Stars.
Striker Leonardo Castro then begun to torment defenders with his menacing combination with former Mamelodi Sundowns teammate Khama Billiat but was derailed by an ankle injury.
Most recently, new signing Lebogang Manyama was sidelined after being involved in a serious car crash on his way home from training, in the process hurting his elbow and shin, which has ruled him out for up to six weeks.
“Hey guys, we are fighting against the bad luck. But we continue fighting, and we will win against this bad luck, because we start this bad luck with Joseph fracturing his leg, after it was Castro and now Lebo,” Solinas cried out.
“So, it’s finished. But, in Kaizer Chiefs we have good players. If they [injured players] aren’t playing, we have the solutions and options in the squad.
“It’s a pity about Lebo because he started to gain good fitness. He played an outstanding game in the Macufe Cup and it’s a pity now that he’s injured. But, I repeat, we continue fighting against the bad luck.”
