Themba Zwane, who has played all of Bafana's matches so far in the competition, will miss the last-16 clash against hosts Egypt at Cairo International Stadium on Saturday, which means Bafana coach Stuart Baxter will have to make a change in midfield.

Zwane was booked in Bafana victory over Namibia and again when they came up against Morocco in their final group match.

Baxter has options in his squad to replace Zwane. Sibusiso Vilakazi, Thulani Serero and PSL Footballer of the Season Thembinkosi Lorch are options for Baxter. A number of South African supporters have been calling for Lorch to get an opportunity in the competition and this could be the time he is finally unleased.

Two other players suspended for the last-16 are Steve Mounie of Benin and Madagascar's Marco Ilaimaharitra.

Mounie was cautioned in matches against Cameroon and Ghana, while Ilaimaharitra was booked against Nigeria and Guinea.
