Wan-Bissaka, 21, recently became United's second signing in the current transfer window, following the club's acquisition of Daniel James from Championship side Swansea City.

The England U21 international, who made 46 appearances for Crystal Palace last season, is now one of the most expensive players who have completed big-money moves prior to registering their first cap on the international scene, according to a list recently compiled by FourFourTwo.

At the summit is Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte, who joined the Citizens from Athletic Bilbao in January 2018 for a fee of £57.2 million (R1 billion).

The highly-rated Frenchman has been capped at U17, U18, U19 and U21 levels by France, but is yet to feature for Didier Deschamps senior team.

With Wan-Bissaka in second spot, third place goes to newly-signed Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes, who completed his transfer from Brazilian side Santos this month. Rodrygo was snapped up for a staggering £40 million (R714 million) by Los Blancos, but has only turned out for Brazil's U17 and U20 teams at youth level so far.

He is followed by by 2019 Golden Boy nominee Vinicius Junior, who made history by becoming the most expensive player under the age of 19 when he joined Los Blancos for a fee of £38.7 million (R689 million) from Flamengo.
