Prior to yesterday’s 3-1 win over Black Leopards, the Ethiopian had started 12 games. He has, however, been instrumental in creating a number of goal-scoring opportunities for his teammates.
“I am feeling relieved. Last night was my 13th game for United and it is never a good feeling not to have scored for that long.
“This goal has lifted my confidence and hopefully will be the start of many more to come,” says the speedy striker.
But was he worried about having failed to score for so long?
“I am also happy that coach Gavin Hunt has continued to show belief in me. Getting game time raised my confidence.”
Last season Tefera was criticised for his lack of goals while at Pirates despite starting in many games. He had a tendency to make runs away from the box.
