Davids and Ramovic receive presidential praise

With Simba SC and Young Africans SC's recent continental achievements, managers Sead Ramovic and Fadlu Davids have caught the attention of the Tanzanian President.

The Reds of Msimbazi earned a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Bravos do Maquis in a CAF Confederation Cup encounter on Sunday, putting them in a good place to reach the next round of the tournament.

With their weekend opponents on their tail, trailing by three points, Davids' side will be searching for victory when they face CS Constantine to ensure they advance.

Yanga, meanwhile, picked up a crucial 1-0 victory over Sudanese outfit Al-Hilal to keep their hopes of making the knockout rounds of the CAF Champions League alive.

Ramovic's side are currently third on the Group A table, just one point behind MC Alger, and will have the opportunity to progress to the quarter-final stage of the tournament when they face the Algerian outfit in their final group-stage match on Saturday.

The efforts of both managers were recognised by Tanzania President Samia Suluhu Hassan, who took to social media to recognise the teams' efforts.

"Congratulations to Simba SC for advancing to the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup," she wrote on Instagram.

"Keep up the great work in entertaining our nation and representing our flag on the international stage."

She added: "Congratulations to Yanga SC for winning the CAF Champions League match!

"Your triumph brings immense pride to all Tanzanians as you continue to elevate our nation's name on the international stage."
