Following the appointment of Rigobert Song, the Central African Football Federation (FCF) has issued a response stating that it was not aware of the decision.
The former Cameroon boss was announced as the new head coach of Central African Republic (CAR) on Monday, with the 48-year-old being appointed to the role by presidential decree.

The FCF, however, have released a statement, in which they confirmed that the federation had not been consulted during the election process and have formally opposed the decision.
"The Central African Football Federation learned with dismay and surprise through social media about Order No. 002/MP/SEC/DIR-CAB.2025 of January 13, 2025, appointing the coaches of the National Team A," the federation said in a statement, as translated from google translator.
"The Executive Committee of the Central African Football Federation, meeting in an extraordinary session on January 14, 2025, informs national and international opinion that it was not associated with or consulted on this decision.
"Consequently, it declares that it does not recognize itself in this unilateral decision, which is contrary to the current provisions: 'Decisions concerning the recruitment of members of the coaching staff must remain among the rights and competencies reserved exclusively for the Executive Committee of the Federations'."
The FCF went on to suggest that it had other plans when it came to their ideal candidate for the position.
"To this end, the Central African Football Federation had decided to nationalize the position of coach of the Fauves A.
"It is thus that the interim was entrusted to a technical staff composed entirely of Central Africans, led by Eloge ENZA YAMISSI, former captain of the Fauves A.
The statement then declared that the federation would like to avoid an "unnecessary crisis" between the two parties.
"Following the latest result of the qualification of the Central African Republic for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) and at a time when the President of the Republic, Head of State, Professor Faustin Archange TOUADERA, is multiplying efforts to consolidate peace among the sons and daughters of the country, the Central African Football Federation, which is part of this vision, would like to avoid any action aimed at creating an unnecessary crisis between the Ministry in charge of Sports and the body responsible for managing Central African football."
