Real Madrid star claims rival teams 'hurt' by their UEFA Champions League success

Real remain on course for a record third successive Champions League title under the management of Zinedine Zidane after surviving a scare against Juventus in the quarter-final stage.

Juve pulled back a three-goal deficit from the first-leg to silence the Santiago Bernabeu, but a 97th-minute penalty from Cristiano Ronaldo secured Los Blancos' progression.

And winger Lucas Vázquez, who's developed into a key figure under Zidane this season, claims the outcry from the late winner is purely down to envy.

"It hurts people to see us in the semi-finals eight years in a row," he told reporters, as quoted by Marca. "It creates envy with people that we have to learn to live with.

"Many people are happy about our misfortune. People are giving so much attention to something that has already happened. The penalty is being discussed more in Spain than in Italy."

Vasquez has been the second highest contributor with goals and assists for Real this season, with 22, only bettered by Ronaldo's 48.
