The Premier League leaders were unable to travel home with their personal transportation due to the damage caused by bottles and fireworks thrown in the direction of the bus.
Guardiola and De Bruyne had contrasting opinions over the events, with the Spaniard clearly riled up about the lack of intervention from police surrounding the entrance of the stadium.
"The bus is destroyed. I didn't expect that a club as prestigious as Liverpool would do these kinds of things. Of course, it is not Liverpool, it is the people – it was not only one, only two, only three," he told reporters after the game, as quoted by Marca.
Meanwhile, City's star performer this season played down the events, saying he's used to that sort of hostile environment.
"It was ok. I don't mind supporters doing that. I've had it before for my team. I think it's a nice feeling. I'm ok with it, as long as nobody's hurt I'm fine," the Belgium international said.
"No [it didn't affect the players], it doesn't change anything. As long as you keep the violence down there's nothing wrong with it."
