Luis Suarez: FC Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde on Luis Suarez four year UCL away goal drought

After the 0-0 draw against Lyon in their first leg round of 16 tie last night, the uninspired performance of Suarez drew plenty of criticism as he wasted several of his side's 25 shots on goal on the evening.

The last time Suarez netted away from home in Europe, Brendon Rodgers was still in charge of Liverpool, as his record now stretches to one goal in his last 17 away games.

Despite only racking up two goals in his last 10 fixtures across all competitions, he's overall tally stands at 16, which Valverde feels is no cause for concern.

"It doesn't worry me," Barca coach Valverde said, as per ESPN. "It would worry me if he wasn't getting chances, which is what you ask for from a centre-forward.

"And [even] if he doesn't have chances, he creates them for his teammates. Opponents are frightened of him. He [must] be reserving himself... Football is a game of margins. Strikers have runs [of goals] and the best thing is he's getting chances."
