The award winners from the 2019/20 Serie A campaign have been announced, and Cristiano Ronaldo has been dethroned as the league's MVP.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Serie A announced the winners of the league's MVP awards across each of the playing positions, as well as the awards for the best young player and overall best player of the season.

Ronaldo, who won the 2018/19 MVP award, was dethroned by teammate Paulo Dybala for this season's accolade, while he also missed out on the Best Striker award to Lazio forward Ciro Immobile, who equalled the all-time league record with 36 goals for the campaign.
Fellow Bianconeri star Wojciech Szczesny walked away with the Best Goalkeeper crown and Parma's 20-year-old midfielder Dejan Kulusevski, who is on loan from Juve, won the season's Best Young Player award.
Inter Milan and Netherlands centre-back Stefan de Vrij was named the Best Defender, while Alejandro "Papu" Gomez took the Best Midfielder gong after starring for this season's surprise package, Atalanta.

Dybala, who recorded 11 goals and 11 assists for the campaign, and the other award winners will all receive their trophies on the pitch on the opening day of the 2020/21 Serie A season.
