New Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has reportedly identified the first signing he wants to bring to Old Trafford.
The Portuguese tactician was officially announced as the Red Devils' new head coach on Friday following the departure of Erik ten Hag earlier in the week.
The 39-year-old has won two Primeira Liga titles with Sporting in the last four years and currently has the team top of the table with nine wins from nine matches.

According to the Sun, Amorim is keen on bringing defender Ousmane Diomande to Manchester with the transfer window just two months away.
The report claims that the Portuguese tactician is determined to implement his three centre-back system with the Red Devils in the Premier League.
With new signing Lenny Yoro to return later this month, Amorim could use Matthijs De Ligt and Lisandro Martinez and the Frenchman in his new system while it remains to be seen if Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans have a long-term future at Old Trafford.
However, Amorim did reveal on Friday that he does not plan to raid Sporting for players when the transfer window opens.
"Gyokeres costs €100m and it's a lot. I'm not going to sign any player from Sporting in January. What does it mean to me? It was the best period of my life," Amorim told Portuguese newspaper Record.
"Everyone at Sporting knows how important it was for me. I understand the fans' disappointment and leaving in the middle of a season that could be historic... But today is not a farewell, we still have two important games with Man City and Braga, to maintain the lead."
