After scoring 53 goals in 58 games for the MLS side, Ibrahimovic has been linked with a host of Europe's elite clubs.
However, on his official Instagram account, the towering striker posted a cryptic message.
"Hello, Spain. Guess what? I'm coming back," the 38-year-old abruptly said.
Ibrahimovic spent a year at Barça in 2009/10, scoring 22 goals in 46 appearances in a LaLiga title-winning season before leaving for AC Milan.
