Coutinho has been a key player for Barcelona this season, with his three goals and two assists in nine appearances across all competitions having contributed towards the club's upward trajectory following a disappointing 2019/20 campaign.
The 28-year-old's upturn in form comes just over a year after his long-term future with Barca was cast in doubt by then-manager Ernesto Valverde, who shipped him off on loan to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
However, the former Liverpool star enjoyed a stellar campaign in Germany, where he helped the Bavarians win the league, the German Cup and the UEFA Champions League, prompting a rethink at Barcelona following Koeman's arrival at the Camp Nou.
Coutinho, who was also strongly linked with a return to the Premier League, has now revealed that a telephone call from the Dutchman ultimately convinced him to return to the Blaugrana instead of seeking a new club.
