FC Barcelona reject €60m Leicester City bid for Francisco Trincao - report

Trincao, 20, signed a five-year contract with Barcelona in the January transfer window in a deal worth a reported €31m but remained on loan with LigaNos outfit Braga for the remainder of the season.

The fleet-footed winger who has earned comparisons to national team icon Cristiano Ronaldo for his goal-scoring exploits was slapped with a €500m release clause but this hasn't deterred Brendan Rodgers' side's interest.

According to reports in Catalan media, the Foxes launched an ambitious move for the Portugal youth international who were willing to stump the full fee upfront to land his services for the 2020/21 season.

With Barcelona currently in a precarious position to balance the books for Financial Fair Play (FFP) rulings, the reported offer could tempt them into allowing the highly-rated prospect to depart before ever featuring for the club.

However, it's been claimed talks are still ongoing with the Blaugrana aiming to hold our for a potential bidding war, with 'several' clubs around Europe keen on his services.

Trincao netted nine goals and registered 13 assists in 40 games across all competitions last season as Braga finished third behind Benfica and champions FC Porto.
