FC Barcelona put 2018 Fifa World Cup winner up for sale?

In a bid to seal the acquisitions of Antoine Griezmann and Neymar, FC Barcelona have reportedly put a first-team star, who cost the club a staggering €105 million (R1.67 billion), up for sale.

Barcelona have been heavily linked with services of departing Atletico forward Griezmann and Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar, with speculation having risen in recent days as the LaLiga giants continued a clearout of sorts of the first team.

German publication Kicker has now claimed that the Blaugrana have placed 2018 FIFA World Cup winner Ousmane Dembele on the transfer market as the club continue their reported pursuit of Griezmann and Neymar.

FIFA regulations indicate that a club cannot finish the transfer window with a negative balance of more than €100 million (R1.59 billion), so if the Barca are to snap up the aforementioned duo, they will need to offload one or two of their more high-profile players.

Dembele became the Catalan club's record signing when he moved from Borussia Dortmund to the Camp Nou in 2017. The Frenchman's record was later surpassed by Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho.

The 22-year-old France winger is reportedly not short of suitors, with PSG believed to be keen on entertaining a player-plus-cash deal involving wantaway star Neymar, while Bayern Munich and Liverpool are also said to be monitoring the Selecao star's situation.
