Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Jasond Gonzalez's rich vein of form in front of goal has seen him enter the Golden Boot race in the Bolivian Primera Division.
The bulky forward was released by Amakhosi at the end of the 2023/24 season after failing to make an impact at the Soweto giants, having joined the team on loan from Real Santa Cruz in August 2023.

To put things into perspective, Gonzalez failed to find the back of the net in 13 appearances across all competitions for the Naturena-based club.
Following his departure from Chiefs, Gonzalez returned to Santa Cruz but only stayed for seven months before signing with Bolivian outfit Club Always Ready in January 2025.
Since then, the 26-year-old towering striker has been proving his worth, netting seven goals in just ten league games, with his latest strike coming in a clash against Bolivar on Sunday.
His impressive form sees him currently tied as the league’s top goal scorer with seven goals alongside Oscar Villalba of Independiente Petrolero.

Gonzalez’s goals have propelled Always Ready to the top of the table with 24 points, two ahead of second-placed The Strongest, who have 22 points from ten matches.
Despite struggling at Chiefs, where he endured heavy criticism and was often the target of frustration from fans, Gonzalez appears to have rediscovered his confidence and form back home in Bolivia.
