Agent of Ugandan star 'met with Nabi'

It is now claimed that the agent of a highly sought-after Ugandan striker recently met with Kaizer Chiefs boss Nasreddine Nabi to discuss a potential move to Naturena.

Several Tanzanian Premier League-based players have been linked with Chiefs in recent weeks.

Azam FC playmaker Feisal Salum is reportedly still being pursued by the club, while the Soweto giants have also been linked with Simba SC duo Denis Kibu and Jean Charles Ahoua.

Another Simba player has now entered the frame, as AfricaFoot.com reports that Chiefs have made progress in their efforts to sign Steven Mukwala.

The publication claims that an unnamed source revealed Nabi held talks with Mukwala’s agent to explore the possibility of a move.

"Nasreddine Nabi, Kaizer Chiefs' head of recruitment and Tunisian assistant coach, met with Steven Mukwala's agent in Dar es Salaam," the source reportedly revealed, according to Africafoot

It is further claimed that Chiefs face strong competition for Mukwala’s signature, as reigning CAF Confederation Cup champions RS Berkane have already submitted a significant offer.

The source added: "Kaizer Chiefs' signing of Steven Mukwala will serve the interests of the Simba SC chairman, as it will increase the player's asking price, especially since RS Berkane offered $300,000 (R5.3 million) for the Ugandan striker."

Mukwala is a 25-year-old centre-forward, who has already earned 20 caps for the Uganda national team.
