The two sides will be vying for progression to the knockout stages from Group F, which also features German heavyweights Borussia Dortmund and Brazilian side Fluminense.
Ulsan enters the match in high spirits, having recently defeated Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit Charlotte FC 5–2 in a behind-closed-doors preparation friendly game.
Meanwhile, Miguel Cardoso’s star-studded Sundowns team impressed in their warm-up fixtures, recording emphatic 6–0 victories over American sides Miami FC and Sarasota.
