Top 10 African clubs revealed, Bucs climb!

IFFHS has released their list of the top 10 highest-ranked African clubs in the world, with Orlando Pirates climbing up the ladder.

The 2024/25 season just concluded for the majority of leagues on the African continent, which included the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.

There is a new leader on the IFFHS rankings for Africa, with Pyramids FC displacing Al Ahly for the first time in five years after claiming their first Champions League title last month.

The top three is rounded out by Al Ahly, who have dropped to second spot while Zamalek find themselves in third despite being eliminated in the Confederation Cup quarter-finals by Stellenbosch FC.

Meanwhile, South Africa have two teams in the top 10 as the Buccaneers have climbed to fifth spot in the CAF rankings, while Mamelodi Sundowns are ninth despite winning the league and reaching the Champions League final.

Stellenbosch have also climbed up the ladder after an impressive run to the Confederation Cup semi-finals as they sit in 17th position on the IFFHS rankings.
