A former Mamelodi Sundowns striker has predicted bright future prospects for PSL players following the side's performances so far in the FIFA Club World Cup that is currently underway.
Sundowns opened their Club World Cup campaign with a 1-0 win over South Korean champions Ulsan HD last Wednesday, before losing 4-3 to Borussia Dortmund in a thrill-a-minute encounter last Saturday.

A win against Fluminense from Brazil on Wednesday, though seen as a bridge too far by some, will ensure qualification to the Last 16.
"I thought they were fabulous against Borussia Dortmund," reflects Kenny Niemach, the erstwhile imposing marksman.
"They made some silly mistakes, but they held their own and made themselves proud. I liked their transitions - they were quick, sharp, and very dynamic.
"There were just a few errors and moments of lack of concentration, but that's to be expected when you're playing against European teams who are competing in the UEFA Champions League. It's a whole different level.
"Sundowns acquitted themselves quite well, now let's see what else is in store. In terms of entertainment value, it's a solid 10 out of 10. Their results so far are a good yardstick," he adds.
Niemach says it is important to understand that Dortmund are also a side in pre-season, with new players coming in.
"The main thing is that Sundowns were not completely overawed. Tactically, they were good. There were just some errors that worked against them, and maybe they felt a little intimidated.
"But still, Sundowns played well, and I'm glad that the whole world gets to see what South African football is about. This exposure opens up the market for more PSL players to end up in Europe.
"Different clubs around the world will now recognise that there is talent in the South African league. It's no longer a limited scope, it's now open, and everyone will be eager to see this league next season. We will no longer be undermined.

"The level at which Sundowns is currently playing is extremely high, which benefits the league. Our league had fallen behind a bit, and we need to assert our dominance on the continent once again," continued the man who also played for Kaizer Chiefs, while challenging them and Orlando Pirates to step up.
"They must first excel in continental competitions."
