A former Mamelodi Sundowns star who has a statue erected in his honour in Europe has predicted an easier game for Miguel Cardoso's men against Fluminense, pointing out what they need to do.
Sundowns are set to face group leaders Fluminense from Brazil in a crucial Group F match where they need to secure all three points to confirm their place in the last 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup.
Currently, Sundowns sit third on the table with three points, while Borussia Dortmund is in second place, and they are going up against the group's bottom team, Ulsan HD, who have zero points.
"Sundowns are not under pressure; they've played several good games, particularly the one where they lost 4-3," Zuma tells KickOff.
"Ronwen made a mistake, but overall, the team performed really well. What makes me happy is that they showcased our style of football, which many people were not expecting.
"The world was watching, and now they know about South African teams and the quality of our league. If you look at the goals the boys scored against Borussia Dortmund, they were a result of good combinations and were quality goals.
"It would be great to see them advance to the next round. They have enough quality, they just need to minimize their mistakes. Facing a Brazilian team will be a significant test for Sundowns, as their playing style will be similar," he added.
"There will be a lot of possession-based football, so Sundowns must play it safe. One mistake can easily be punished by these teams. This is a big stage.
"But I believe they will win against Fluminense, as long as they play safely and defend as a team. If they defend well, it will be an easier game for them."
