Report: Pyramids set sights on Chiefs-linked striker

A young African striker reportedly on Kaizer Chiefs' radar is now said to have attracted interest from the reigning CAF Champions League champions, Pyramids FC.

The Egyptian giants nicknamed the Sky Blues, are said to be considering a move for Young Africans forward Clement Mzize, who has impressed with his performances in the Tanzanian Premier League.

Mzize has consistently been linked with a move away from Yanga, with several prominent African clubs reportedly monitoring his progress in recent seasons.

During previous transfer windows, reports suggested that Amakhosi were eager to secure the services of the talented Tanzanian striker. However, a move to Naturena has yet to materialize.

Moreover, Zamalek were also listed amongst the teams interested in signing Mzize, who was promoted to Yanga's senior team in July 2022 from the club's reserve team.

Now, fresh reports from Egypt indicate that the 21-year-old goal poacher could be headed to the Egyptian Premier League next season.

With star forward Fiston Mayele rumoured to be on his way out, Pyramids FC are believed to be targeting Mzize as a youthful addition to bolster their attacking options.

"There is great interest in strengthening the attacking line during the current transfers, to prepare strongly for the next season," a source told Iqraa News.

"Clement Mzize is currently the most prominent candidate to bolster the attacking line.

"The interest in strengthening the attack and the inclusion of several players in the team's plans is not related to Mayele's departure or stay.

"Rather, the team seeks to strengthen all lines to meet the coach's needs before the start of the season."
