PSG brush Madrid aside in CWC semis!

Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Real Madrid 4-0 on Wednesday evening to book their spot in the FIFA Club World Cup final.

Madrid were without Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen through injury and suspension respectively, while PSG afforded Ousmane Dembele his maiden start of the tournament.

Dembele impacted proceedings on six minutes when he intercepted a loose pass in the area from Raul Asencio and teed-up Fabian Ruiz to tap in a gaping net.

The Frenchman charged again where he capitalised on a heavy touch from Antonio Rudiger three minutes later to race clear on goal and powered into the bottom-corner.

Los Blancos were torn to shreds once more midway through the half when a neat passing move released Achraf Hakimi on the right to cross for Ruiz, who completed his brace.

It was a one-way traffic at this point as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia came close to registering his name of the score-sheet when he curled inches wide of the far post after cutting inside.

Madrid almost conceded a fourth goal in the last minute of the first period through a surging attempt from Dembele, but goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois palmed over.

The dominance from the treble champions continued in the second half after Desire Doue came in on the far side to get a shot in, but Courtois was able to parry.

Madrid were eager to find a way back and made a triple substitution minutes by introducing Luka Modric, Eder Militao and Brahim Diaz for Jude Bellingham, Asencio and Vinicius Junior.

The Spanish giants got a few half-chances inside the closing stages, but failed to get past goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Los Blancos remained susceptible to the counter-attack three minutes from time and conceded again when Goncalo Ramos capitalised on a switch of play to finish from close-range, sealing their spot in Sunday's final against Chelsea.
