Thierry Henry set to be named AFC Bournemouth manager - report

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is reportedly set to be named the new AFC Bournemouth head coach.

Henry, 43, is currently the manager of Major League Soccer outfit Montreal Impact but is said to have won the race between former Gunners captain Patrick Vieira, John Terry and former Huddersfield boss David Wagner.

According to English publication The Mirror, Henry's recent interview has convinced the Cherries he's the right candidate to succeed recently sacked Jason Tindall and lead the club back to the Premier League.

Tindall, who succeeded Eddie Howe after their relegation in the 2019/20 season was relieved of his duties earlier this month after a string of inconsistent displays.

Henry is said to be keen on the opportunity to return to European football after one season in the MLS, which has restored his reputation following an ill-fated stint in Ligue 1 with AS Monaco.

The France all-time record goalscorer also spent time as the assistant coach to Roberto Martinez with the Belgium national team before venturing into his head coaching career.
