Argentine journalist César Luis Merlo has revealed that Greek club A.E. Kifisia are set to secure the services of Esquivel, with the move subject to a medical examination.

The report has indicated that the Argentine attacking midfielder will join the Athens-based outfit on a loan deal from the South African champions.

Esquivel arrived at Masandawana from the Argentine side CA Lanús in January 2024, with a lot expected from him. However, he has struggled to make a significant impact.

The 26-year-old midfielder has made 16 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing one assist since joining the Tshwane giants.

"Matías Esquivel is Kifisia's new signing," an Argentine journalist César Luis Merlo wrote.

"He's already in Greece to undergo his medical and sign his contract.

"He arrives on a one-year loan with an option to buy from Mamelodi Sundowns."
