The club has confirmed the signing of Yousef Aymen on loan from Qatari giants Al Duhail.

The defender has penned a short-term contract until 30 June 2025 after the reigning CAF Champions League winners paid a €229 000 (R4.5 million) loan fee for his services.

A statement on the club's official website reads: "Amir Tawfik, CEO of Al-Ahly Football Company and Contracting Director, announced that the club has signed Youssef Ayman, Al-Duhail and Qatari national team player, for a year on loan.

"He added that the club has completed all financial and administrative procedures in this regard. The player will join the first football team training, according to the vision of Marcel Koller, the technical director."

Born in Egypt but currently a Qatar international, Aymen previously represented Al Ahly at youth level before joining the ASPIRE Academy in 2009.

Last season, the centre-back won the Qatar Stars League with Al Duhail, which was his third trophy at the club.
