Now 35 and a veteran, Musona has in recent years being brought in to play in midfield instead of further up the pitch where he excelled in his younger years.
His name still rings loud at Kaizer Chiefs where he left an impress through the two spells that he had at the club.
Musona first arrived as a teenager in the winter of 2009 and after banging 28 goals in two years he was then sold to German Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
After two years in Germany, he came back for a season long loan at Chiefs where he scored 16 goals during the 2013/14 season.
He went back to Germany before moving to Belgium from where he went to Saudi Arabia.
The latest is that he is heading to Zimbabwean club Scottland FC to reunite with Khama Billiat.
Scotland also have his younger brother Walter and pay the best salaries in the league coupled with massive bonuses and signing on fees which explains why they are attracting foreign players from Namibia and Malawi.
The money rich owners of Scottland can compete with some clubs in the Betway Premiership with packages that they offer.
Based on discussions that have been held, Musona will become the highest paid player in the Zimbabwean league.
