Liberia deny Namibia victory in Soweto

Tunisia 1-0 Equatorial Guinea

Tunisia maintained their perfect start in Group H in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers following a late 1-0 victory over Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday.

After losses to Croatia and New Zealand in the FIFA series in March, the Carthage Eagles were desperate to get back on the winning track least in their qualifying campaign for the World Cup.

In Equatorial Guinea, the task was never going to be easy as it proved with the duration of the match goalless before a penalty from Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane separated matters.

Namibia 1-1 Liberia

Namibia were denied a third successive win to remain on par with Tunisia in Group H as Liberia forced out a 1-1 draw at the Orlando Stadium.

A fast start from the Brave Warriors were brought to the table as Tjipe Karuuombe made the breakthrough on just eight minutes played.

It served as a great confidence booster, with the host able to take the lead into the break and in addition hold their own for much of the contest.

However, the Lone Stars weren't prepared to let the sun go down but rallied back and evidently snatched a point all through Terry Sackor as it indeed finished level pegging.

Togo 1-1 South Sudan

Togo stretched their unbeaten run to five matches in all competitions courtesy of a 1-1 draw with South Sudan in a Group B qualifier.

Neither enjoyed a comfortable opening after a goalless first half, it was the host that hit the front foot courtesy of Khaled Narey's finish but an own-goal from Roger Aholou secured a point.

Both nations remain winless in the qualifying journey, with the host grabbing a third successive draw and Sudan just above bottom-placed Mauritania.

Sierra Leone 2-1 Djibouti

Sierra Leone's campaign in Group A finally got off the mark after securing a 2-1 victory over the basement dwellers Djibouti.

England-based Curtis Davies hit the breakthrough past the opening ten minutes before a penalty from Gabriel Dadzie evened up matters.

Leone Stars still enjoyed most of the momentum despite surrendering the advantage and bagged all the points as Augustus Kargbo fired in the winner in the second stanza.

Central African Republic 1-0 Chad

Central African Republic fantastic run of form continued and edged out Chad 1-0 in a tense Group I qualifying encounter out in Pointe-Noire.

It's the first win in the qualifiers for the host, as Chad languishes at the bottom of the group with the winner from Venuste Baboula in the first stanza.
