A Wydad Athletic Club player has opened up about the exit of head coach Rulani Mokwena as he expressed his frustration over the team's failure to secure a spot in the CAF Champions League.
For the last three games, the Casablanca giants had given Mokwena a special leave and confirmed that he would part ways with the team at the end of the season.
This decision was made after the 38-year-old coach failed to achieve favourable outcomes with the team, leading the club's management to relieve him of his duties.

However, Mokwena attended Wydad's last match of the 2024/25 campaign as he bid farewell to the club he joined at the beginning of the season.
The Red Castle finished the 2024/25 Botola Pro League in third place in the standings, which qualified them to participate in the CAF Confederation Cup in the upcoming season.
Wydad under currently being led by interim coach Amin Benhachem, who has won all three matches while Mokwena was away, with the most recent win being a 2-0 victory against Renaissance Zemamra on Sunday.
The club's right-back Fahd Moufi has expressed his disappointment for finishing third, while acknowledging that Mokwena's tenure did not yield the desired results despite efforts to improve the club's circumstances.
"We are back in the Confederation Cup, but we are not happy because our goal was to qualify for the CAF Champions League and make the fans happy, despite that, we say thank God," Moufi said per M.elbotola.

"Mokwena did his job, but the ball wasn't on his side. Benhachem came and changed the atmosphere and everything, and now we see the good work he's doing."
Moufi has also took a moment to commend Cassius Mailula, who found the back of the net during the match, and ultimately lost his mother after the game.
"His mother passed away and he told us that he felt that way before the match, but he still played the match. I congratulate him on that."
