Benni McCarthy has announced a provisional squad for the upcoming 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
CHAN 2024 is just under a month away, with the tournament set to run from 2 to 30 August 2025.
The competition was initially scheduled to take place in February, but it was postponed to next month due to delays in the readiness of some host venues.
This year’s edition will be co-hosted by three countries: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

A certain level of expectation has been placed on McCarthy’s side as hosts, especially after being drawn in a challenging Group A alongside Morocco, Angola, DR Congo, and Zambia.
The South African coach, who is preparing to take charge of his first international tournament, has named a 30-man provisional squad.
Notably, the squad includes 2024/25 Kenyan Premier League Golden Boot winner Moses Shumah of Kakamega Homeboyz.
Shumah is reported to have attracted interest from two unnamed South African clubs after finishing the recent campaign with 17 goals. His asking price is said to be R2 million.
