The Ghanaian powerhouse  head into the match brimming with confidence after securing a 2-1 victory over Hearts of Oak in the 2025 President’s Cup final on July 6 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Glamour Boys return to the Moses Mabhida Stadium on the back of their thrilling 2-1 win over arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in the 2025 Nedbank Cup final.

This weekend’s encounter marks the second meeting between the two African giants. Their first clash came in the 2001 Vodacom Challenge final, where the Amakhosi emerged victorious.

Speaking ahead of the match, 26-year-old Opoku, a key attacking player for the Porcupine Warriors, expressed strong belief in his team's ability to cause an upset to Nasreddine Nabi's side.

"We all know we are Asante Kotoko and Asante Kotoko is one of the biggest clubs in Africa that is undoubtedly," Opoku told Asante Kotoko SC media, per Ghana SoccerNet.
