With reports linking Percy Tau to Egyptian Premier League giants Zamalek, new reports have emerged revealing what is delaying his potential move to the club.
The Witbank-born attacker is currently a free agent following the conclusion of his contract with Qatar Stars League side Qatar SC at the end of the 2024/25 season.

The Lion of Judah, as the Bafana Bafana vice-captain is nicknamed, spent six months in Qatar after joining the club from Al Ahly in January. Since then, the former Mamelodi Sundowns star has been heavily linked with several clubs, including Zamalek and Pyramids FC.
While the reigning CAF Champions League Pyramids have reportedly confirmed they are not interested in signing him, interest from Zamalek appears to remain active.
According to the Egyptian publication Elbalad, Zamalek is considering securing Tau's services ahead of the new season, especially following the departure of Ahmed Sayed, best known as Zizo.

However, Elbalad reports that Tau's signing is on hold because Zamalek has yet to appoint a new coach, who can possibly approve this transfer signing.
The club is currently searching for a replacement for Portuguese manager Jose Peseiro, with Tau’s former mentor, Pitso Mosimane said to be emerging as one of the leading candidates to take over.
