A former Al Ahly midfielder believes that the club could be making a mistake by hiring ex-Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro.
Riveiro sat on the Buccaneers bench for the last time during the team's emphatic 3-0 win over Golden Arrows on Tuesday evening at the Orlando Stadium.
The Egyptian Premier League giants have been looking for a new head coach following Swiss manager Marcel Koller's departure later last month.

Early in April, Pirates announced that Riveiro would not sign a new contract and would leave at the end of the season, however, on Monday the club confirmed that he will before the season ends.
More so, the Soweto giants have confirmed that the 49-year-old mentor has already signed with a new team. Several reports have indicated that the Spanish tactician is headed to Al Ahly, and his unveiling is imminent.
Amid those reports, ex-Ahly left winger Ahmed Abou-Mosalem has insisted that Riveiro lacks experience which makes him an unsuitable leader for the club.
"This choice isn't the most appropriate for me, and I would have liked to see a coach with extensive experience take over," Abou-Mosalem said per Iq.iqraa.news.
"Al Ahly is a big team with a high market value, and we should look for a strong coach with a well-known name in the coaching world."
