Mbombela United sign young Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Abram Ngcobo on loan

The 21-year old goal minder was one of the players entrusted with keeping goals for the Tshwane side as they won last year's edition of the reserve league.

According to the player's manager Godfrey Mushanganyisi, Ngcobo's loan move to the Mpumalanga side is a done deal and he even travelled to Mozambique for their pre-season camp.

"Abram Ngcobo has signed for Mbombela," Mushanganyisi told snl24.com/kickoff.

"He even went with them to Maputo and came back on Thursday. Everything was finalised before they went to Maputo.

"He played MDC football for Sundowns last season, won it with them and went with them to the Netherlands."

Mushanganyisi says the quality of the youngster reminds him a lot of Bidvest Wits' veteran goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs.

"That boy is quality, he reminds me of 'Slimkat' himself -that boy can keep goals," he said.

You know when Highlands Park was still campaigning in the NFD, Sundowns loaned him to them, when they got promoted they wanted to buy him but Sundowns said niks. He is only 21 and he is the future, even Oupa Mathebula [Mbombela United chairman] wanted to buy him but Sundowns refused."
