The left-back is set to re-join Dikwena on a one-year loan deal from United, the side he left Stars for in January 2015.
According to a source close to Matsatsantsa, Mpeta is expected to start training with the North West club tomorrow.
"The deal is as good as done. It's a loan deal," the source revealed.
Mpeta made 19 starts in his 18 months with Matsatsantsa.
Dikwena earlier secured another one-season loan for striker Bongi Ntuli from Mamelodi Sundowns.
