Barcelona unveil new 2021/22 home kit

LaLiga giants Barcelona have unveiled their new Nike home kit for the 2021/22 season, and it certainly catches the eye.

The Catalan giants launched their new playing strip with La Masia talents Riqui Puig and Ansu Fati accompanying others for the big reveal at the Camp Nou on Tuesday, while the likes of Antoine Griezmann and Gerard Pique could be seen modelling it in promotional material.

Barca are synonymous with iconic kits and have previously preferred the use of striped shirts, but the new playing strip comes with a new element in the form of a cross

"Barca's new strip makes the maximum use of the club crest," a statement on the club's official website read.

"On the front, at chest height, fans will find the St George Cross, representing the patron saint of Barcelona and the Senyera (the striped Catalan flag).

"Two elements that define the club's identity and its ties to city and country, but reimagined in this particular instance in the famous blaugrana colours, while the traditional vertical stripes feature below, albeit somewhat stylised to give them a more modern look."

The kit also comes with half-and-half shorts, with each leg of the shorts a different colour, and the socks consist of horizontal rings.
