LATEST: Seema set for PSL return?

Keke Mokoena, the representative of Lehlohonolo Seema, has provided an update on the future of the former Sekhukhune United coach and the possibility of a return to the PSL ahead of the 25/26 season.

Seema has been in somewhat of a hiatus since a less-than-ceremonious exit from Sekhukhune United in March.

After guiding Babina Noko to a top-four position in the Betway Premiership, Seema was bizarrely sacked. The same fate had befallen him just a season before at the same club when he helped the Limpopo outfit finish in the fourth and reach the final of the Nedbank Cup.

Seema was then linked with a coaching position with Lesotho-based Bantu FC, but the mentor clarified that he had only been called in to help on a temporary basis, not a formal coaching job.

Contacted for comment on Seema's future, Mokoena revealed that there is no shortage of suitors for the former Orlando Pirates captain’s services.

"It was a needed break, I would say. After what happened and how it happened.

"But to answer your question, the coach is well. He’s refreshed and ready to coach again. That’s the only update we are at liberty to share," Mokoena told KICK OFF.
Recent rumours have pointed the 45-year-old towards a possible move to the newly formed Siwelele FC - conceived from the now-defunct SuperSport United.
After all, Seema previously played and coached Bloemfontein Celtic, having joined Phunya Sele Sele in 1998, leaving for Pirates in 2006. Seema returned as assistant coach in 2013 and became head coach in 2019.

Quizzed further for comment on these fresh links, Mokoena would not be drawn into the debate.

"It wouldn’t be right or fair to speak about specific teams, but like I said: The coach is looking at his options, listening to offers that have been made and will ultimately choose what he feels is the right project."
"At this point in his coaching career, I think his work also speaks for itself."
Seema is a CAF A licence holder and, aside from Sekhukhune United, has coached Lamontville Golden Arrows, Chippa United and Polokwane City.
