Rulani: I will not talk about Lorch

South African-born Wydad Casablanca head coach Rulani Mokwena has opened up on the debuts of new signings, including Thembinkosi Lorch.

After making a loan move to Wydad from Mamelodi Sundowns, Lorch finally made his debut in a 2-0 win over Hassania Agadir on having been introduced in the 64th minute.

The former PSL Footballer of the Season was not the only signing making his debut under Mokwena, as Mickael Malsa (ex-Real Valladolid in LaLiga2), Fahd Moufi (signed from Croatia) and Ghanaian striker Samuel Obeng also played for the first time off the bench.

Mokwena indicated that his new signings still need game-time to be properly rated but insisted they are quality additions.

"I don't think it's a true reflection of the score, we created more chances in the second half. I was proud of the debut for all the players, except for the last 10 minutes we lost a lot of balls. But okay, that's normal," Mokwena said in his post-match press conference.

"Malsa still needs a little bit of legs, Moufi needs a little bit of legs, Obeng, Lorch... They need a little bit of legs, but congratulations, a very good performance from the starters and from the subs.

"I'm not going to talk about Moufi, I will not talk about Lorch, I will not talk about Malsa and I will not talk about Obeng. I think you will see for yourself," he said.

"I honestly think you will see that they are very, very good players, but they have to do the talking on the pitch."

The 38-year-old tactician played Lorch in a number 10 role and he impressed with his link-up play and had a couple of shots at goal.

This includes an audacious long kick close to the centre circle looking to lob goalkeeper Badreddine Abyir, who was quick to track back and smother the effort.
