The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach will be stayin in North Africa after being announced as the new head coach of Algerian side MC Alger.
Mokwena had been linked with African champions Pyramids FC, Zamalek and Young Africans in the last few weeks.
However, the South African tactician will be heading to the Algerian top-flight, where he will come up against Sead Ramovic's CR Belouizdad and Josef Zinnbauer's JS Kabylie.
