The draw for the 2020 Olympic Games took place at FIFA's headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland on Wednesday morning and saw South Africa, who are one of three African nations competing at the tournament, placed in Group A for the competition.
Notoane's charges have been pitted against two former winners of the competition in France (1984) and Mexico (2012), as well as hosts Japan, who they will meet in their opening match of the tournament.
Elsewhere on the continent, North African giants Egypt have been drawn alongside Spain, Argentina and Australia in Group B and Ivory Coast will meet Germany, Saudi Arabia and reigning champions Germany in Group D.
