"I don't remember exactly, but I was at the game playing for Swallows, and I scored a couple of goals. Then I heard the crowd cheering and shouting "Tambai".
"I believe it came from what I was doing on the pitch because I was a striker before later becoming a midfielder.
"At Swallows, I was an out-and-out striker. I used to score so many goals. I was good at scoring and dribbling, which was my thing. I would go past two guys at once and go on and score.
"I think that's how I got the nickname because they were saying when I was in possession of the ball, it looked like I was dancing.
"Dancing to that song Tambai. I can't dance, but every time I had the ball, I would dance on the pitch."
Though he retired about 15 years ago, Ramasike says the nickname has stuck with him.
"There are many people who still call me Tambai, even to this day.
"You know yesterday I was at Spar buying something, and I heard some old-timer saying 'Hey here's Tambai'. I pretended not to notice, but he continued following me.
"So people still recognise me by that name, and even at Sundowns, they still call me Tambai."
