The Glamour Boys have made numerous signings during the off-season after the lifting of their imposed transfer ban but, have yet to recruit a recognised striker.
Serbian attacker, Nurkovic is currently the only recognised striker, with Leonardo Castro out through injury.
"Even if they can just get in one more striker, as the team is well-balanced in all other areas.
"I'm happy with the team and with the signings, but feel they can add one more quality striker."
Shongwe added that versatile attacker Khama Billiat was not the answer to the club's lack of options as an out-and-out striker.
"There are a lot of strikers I've even got one that I can give to Chiefs," Shongwe added.
"Chiefs just need a striker, and then they'll be a team that will compete in this league.
"Billiat is a make-shift striker for me, not an out-and-out striker. He fills the same role as Bernard Parker.
"Those are mobile strikers. With another addition, Chiefs will be a complete team."
