Senzo Meyiwa insurance paid out

The Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper was gunned down in Vosloorus more than a year ago, but so far his killers have not been brought to book.

A slight consolation, however, is the payout of the insurance, which is believed to be in the region of R5-million.

“Senzo Meyiwa’s insurance payout has been received by the League,” Khoza said at a press conference where it was also announced that PSL CEO Brand de Villiers had stepped down.

“We will be contacting the Meyiwa family and invite them to a meeting to discuss the matter.”

Khoza added: “The PSL has one policy with all the clubs – injury and untimely death. All the players are covered. Officials also qualify.”
