The Team of Choice are yet to offer the former Free State Stars striker a new contract, but they could be convinced to keep him if he continues to perform the way he has been in the second half of the season.
Fileccia has been in devastating for recently, scoring seven goals for the team of choice in all competitions in 2018, playing a crucial role upfront after the side’s former top scorer Evans Rusike left to join SuperSport United during the January transfer window.
The Belgian’s contract with the the KZN outfit is set to expire in June, but club manager Quintin Jettoo says the striker has an option on his contract.
"He has an option,” said Jetto.
"The club will make an announcement at the appropriate time,” he added.
Fileccia is expected to lead the Maritzburg attack when they host Cape Town City in an Absa Premiership encounter at the Harry Gwala Stadium tomorrow (20h15).
Maritzburg are fourth on the league standings on 38 points after 25 games and will be looking to return to winning ways after their 2-1 defeat to Bidvest Wits in Milpark on Tuesday.
Maritzburg coach Fadlu Davids will have his hopes pinned on his in-form striker.
The Team of Choice, meanwhile, will have midfielders Deolin Mekoa and Fortune Makaringe back from suspension, a big boost for the side.
